Hanover Square

Revitalised Hanover Square Features a Range of Bespoke Architectural Metalwork by PAD Contracts

PAD Contracts has manufactured and supplied a scope of Architectural metalwork, comprised of bespoke balustrading, unique colonnade lighting and feature entrance gates for the impressive redevelopment of Hanover Square situated in the heart of the Mayfair district, London.

The entire 1.3-acre development has been designed around Medici Courtyard, a new public space accessible from New Bond Street, Hanover Square and Tenterden Street. A stunning colonnade featuring bespoke lighting units by PAD Contracts leads the way to alfresco dining and cafes.

Hanover Square is a mixed-use development delivers 167,200 square foot of offices, 41,800 square foot of retail and restaurant space and 12,200 square foot of residential apartments. This includes 18 Hanover Square – a 9-storey building incorporating the eastern entrance to the Elizabeth line’s Bond Street station.

The project also features the renovation of 20 Hanover Square, a Grade II listed building with beautiful Georgian features providing 8,300 square foot of restaurant space and 6,300 square foot of offices.  PAD Contracts was assigned to manufacture and install bespoke steel balustrading to internal staircases.  The railings feature black spindle posts and contrasting polished chrome handrails, all manufactured in Waltham Abbey at PAD Contracts factory.

One of the most intricate pieces of architectural metalwork manufactured for the development is the impressive gates which now proudly stand in situ upon the ornate marble entrance to Medici ––Courtyard from New Bond Street. The bespoke steel gate framework features a beautiful lattice design to that blends in to its surroundings whilst providing strength to perform to its functional security requirements.

“The Hanover project is an excellent example of the private and public sectors working in partnership. Through collaboration, GPE and Crossrail have each been able to maximise their respective proposals as well as providing a catalyst for improved public realm benefits for local stakeholders. The completion of the New Bond Street Crossrail station and the GPE Hanover development will be transformational to both Bond Street and Hanover Square itself and will provide a significant boost to the wider West End.”
