27 Jul PAD Contracts appointed on South Molton Triangle
PAD Contracts is pleased to be supporting the delivery of South Molton Triangle, a significant mixed-use development in Mayfair for Grosvenor Estates and Mitsui Fudosan UK, with Skanska acting as principal contractor.
The project represents another important example of high-quality London construction, bringing together commercial, retail, hospitality and public-facing spaces in one of the capital’s most recognisable locations.
Our team is currently working on the North and South Buildings, as well as The Running Horse public house, delivering a range of specialist architectural metalwork and associated fabrications as part of the wider scheme. As with all PAD projects, our focus is on combining quality, value and reliable delivery through a coordinated approach from design through to installation.
South Molton Triangle is a complex project with a strong architectural ambition. Developments of this type demand careful coordination between trades, attention to detail, and a package contractor who understands both the visual and technical requirements of the finished building. That is where PAD Contracts adds value, by working closely with the project team to ensure each element is delivered to the standard expected on a major central London scheme.
Our scope of works
PAD Contracts’ scope on the project includes a varied package of architectural metalwork and specialist fabrications, covering both prominent feature items and functional back-of-house elements.
Our works include:
- Staircase balustrades fixed to precast concrete units.
- Terrace balustrades.
- General and architectural metalwork for front-of-house and back-of-house areas.
- Hatches.
- Ladders.
- Small galvanised stairs.
- Louvres.
- Metal and rubber wall linings and protection.
This type of package requires a broad skill set. Some elements are highly visible and contribute directly to the look and feel of the building, while others are more discreet but equally important to safe access, durability and day-to-day operation. PAD Contracts is experienced in delivering both ends of that spectrum, from elegant staircases and balustrades to practical general metalwork solutions.
Precision and coordination
A project such as South Molton Triangle places real emphasis on accuracy. Balustrades fixed to precast units, terrace installations, access items and protective linings all require detailed coordination with the surrounding structure and adjacent trades. The quality of the final result depends not only on fabrication, but on how well each component is planned, managed and installed.
PAD Contracts brings in-house design facilities and a full project management team to help maintain design intent while keeping delivery practical and efficient. That capability is especially valuable on projects with multiple interfaces, where tolerances, sequencing and installation access all need to be considered early. It is this joined-up approach that helps PAD deliver solutions that are both technically robust and visually refined.
Architectural metalwork with purpose
At PAD Contracts, architectural metalwork is about more than just fabrication. It is about creating solutions that support the wider architecture while performing reliably in use. Whether the item is a staircase balustrade, a terrace edge detail, a hatch or a set of louvres, each component must meet the functional needs of the building and contribute to the quality of the finished environment.
On South Molton Triangle, that balance is particularly important. The North and South Buildings, together with The Running Horse public house, form part of a high-profile development where appearance, durability and consistency all matter. PAD’s role is to deliver metalwork that sits comfortably within that ambition, with the level of finish and workmanship expected on a premium London project.
Supporting the wider delivery team
Working alongside a main contractor such as Skanska and on behalf of clients including Grosvenor Estates and Mitsui Fudosan UK means operating within a highly structured and performance-driven environment. Clear communication, responsive problem-solving and dependable site support are essential throughout the project lifecycle.
PAD Contracts is well suited to this kind of work because of its experience across the full design, fabrication and installation process. From early coordination to final site delivery, the team understands the importance of being proactive, collaborative and solution-focused. That approach has helped establish Pad as a trusted name in specialist architectural metalwork for complex construction projects.
A project that reflects PAD’s strengths
South Molton Triangle is a strong example of the kind of project Pad Contracts is equipped to support: technically demanding, design-led and commercially important. With a wide range of architectural metalwork elements to deliver, the scheme plays to Pad’s strengths in precision fabrication, coordinated installation and practical problem-solving.
As the project progresses, PAD Contracts is proud to contribute specialist metalwork to a development that will help shape this part of Mayfair for years to come. It is the kind of work that reflects the company’s core values, quality, reliability and a commitment to delivering the best possible outcome for every client and project team involved.
