PAD Contracts: Working with Mace for Greenwich Peninsula Plot 19.05

At PAD Contracts, we’re excited to be part of the transformative journey of Greenwich Peninsula Plot 19.05, collaborating closely with Mace to bring this vision to life. Formally named Peninsula Gardens, the previously brownfield site will undergo an impressive regeneration with 431 apartments in four blocks. As London’s largest single regeneration project, Greenwich Peninsula holds immense promise, and our role in delivering architectural metalwork solutions aligns with the ambitious goals set forth by the Developer Knight Dragon and Mace.

Knight Dragon’s framework agreement with Mace underscores the strategic partnership aimed at delivering multiple plots within the Greenwich Peninsula masterplan. Within this framework, Plot 19.05 is a significant development comprising a mix of ‘private for sale’ apartments in the Lower Riverside neighbourhood. Mace’s innovative ‘Mace Tech’ business unit will spearhead the project, using advanced construction methodologies to optimise efficiency, quality, and sustainability.

PAD Contracts’ involvement in Plot 19.05 extends to providing bespoke architectural metalwork solutions, including designing and supplying balustrades for the main staircases.

Custom Balustrade Design and Supply

One of our key contributions to Plot 19.05 is the design and supply of balustrades for the main staircases. Our team has meticulously crafted these balustrades to integrate seamlessly with the architectural vision of the project. In addition, we have provided cast-in threaded sockets to the precast concrete stair manufacturer, ensuring efficient installation and structural integrity.

Manufacturing Excellence and Timely Delivery

Currently, our skilled craftsmen are hard at work manufacturing the balustrade panels according to project specifications. With delivery to the site scheduled to commence next week (Mid-February 2024), we are committed to meeting project timelines and ensuring the seamless progress of construction activities.

PAD Contracts are actively involved in the installation process. The precast stair manufacturer will place stair units on the project’s ground floor level. PAD then install and line the balustrades onto the units ready for the precast contractor to install the stair units with the balustrade already installed. Our on-site presence every two weeks allows us to oversee progress, address any challenges, and ensure that our architectural metalwork solutions are implemented with precision and quality.

With Mace set to deliver 431 homes on the 1.4-acre site, PAD’s contribution plays a vital role in enhancing the aesthetic and functional aspects of the development. The adoption of hybrid construction methodologies shows Knight Dragon and Mace’s commitment to innovation and excellence, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing transformation of the Greenwich Peninsula.

As work commences on Plot 19.05, it represents the next stage in Knight Dragon’s landmark transformation of Greenwich Peninsula. With a revised outline master plan, the development is poised to deliver over 17,000 homes and 48 acres of public green space, reshaping the urban landscape and creating a vibrant destination neighbourhood for London. The broader framework agreement between Knight Dragon and Mace signifies a long-term commitment to collaboration, innovation, and sustainable development, laying the foundation for future success.

PAD Contracts is honoured to be part of the Greenwich Peninsula regeneration journey, contributing our expertise in architectural metalwork to Plot 19.05. Through collaboration with Knight Dragon and Mace, we are proud to play a role in shaping the future of London’s urban landscape, delivering excellence and innovation every step of the way.
